First, I'll let everyone here know this is not the same "the Kid" that was banned yesterday. Anyways, it's been along time Kid, good to see you back.
It has been suggested by one or two historians that the pattern on Billy's shirt was an anchor, but I can't make it out. It was also suggested that it was a watch chain going across his shirt, but that suggestion has been dismissed. It just looks like a design pattern to me. I don't see why a cowboy "bib-shirt" would have an anchor on it. A steer head maybe, but an anchor?

Thank you Webmaster for clearing my name up, I was hoping it would not get confused....ANYway I agree about the pattern on his shirt... It seems so strange that he would have an anchor pattern on it... I mean, wouldn't it be odd to be walking around town, on a hot dusty New Mexico day in the 1870's...wearing an anchor on your shirt? Maybe he wanted to be a sailor...
I never noticed an anchor, I saw next to nothing to be honest, in the youngsters mode of dress. Any pics I've seen have been rather indistinct to say the least. Then I came uopn a site seling a doll, clothed in "authentic" dress and lo & behold, an anchor is clearly visible!! I offer no opinion, I just note it!
