Not that I'm nosy or anything . . . but I saw you mention a Dylan site that you drop in on from time to time. That wouldn't be The Pool, would it? If so, I jump in that place myself now and again. pat
Ha, Ha, Good one Pat, you got me banged to rights, yes thats one of my sites, but my favorite at present is DVD Dylan http://dvdylan.com/discuss.php
I have been watching Dylan in concert since 1978 in London, I get to see him whenever he is over here, Stirling Castle is a bit special, having said that, I went to see Gillian Welch last week, backed by the "Old Crow Medicine Show" my god what a night, for an encore, they all came out together and sang, "The Weight" "Hickory Wind" and "Cocaine", the audience sang lounder than the band, they said "you've paid your money and have had your concert, now let's do it for fun!) me? I nearly cried. Quite a few of them hail from Texas, which explains a lot!!
Robert, Thanks for the heads up about the DVD Dylan site. I've registered. Now, all I'll have to do is grovel for a b&P or two, then get me a dvd burner, and maybe I'll start some dvd trading. My only problem is time--haven't had much of that for any kind of trading lately. You said you've been seeing Bobby since '78--well, I've got you beat by 4 years! My first Dylan show was Jan. 3, 1974--the first show of the '74 tour with The Band. I'm looking forward to seeing the Dylan/Willie show later this month in Madison, WI. About Gillian Welch--we saw her and many others a while back with the Oh Brother tour. What a marvelous concert! By the time we left, my hands were sore from clapping. And yes, you were right in your post about Tom Russell--his new cd is called "Indians, Cowboys, Horses and Dogs." Poor me, I left my copy at my daughter's place. I miss it greatly. As for its Dylan content--a fine rendition of Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Heart and Seven Curses. I prefer Tom's version of Seven Curses. He puts so much emotion into the song that he gives me chills.
