What was the brand name, type and caliber of the pistol that Garrett used to shoot Billy? Please cite reference or source of the information. Bob

It was a blue steel Frontier Model, single action caliber .44-40, and was supposedly the gun that Garrett confiscated from Billy Wilson when the Kid's gang were captured in Stinking Springs. The above source I got from Frederick Nolan's "The West of Billy the Kid."
