Billy the Kid Poll -any suggestions?

I enjoyed reading all the past poll results. I
am sure no expert here and learning all the time.
One thing I have wondered about is why do/did
people think Billy and Pat Garrett were good
friends? I really can't imagine that in the books
that I have so far read, it seems impossible.
Some people even suggested Garrett hid the gun
for Billy to escape with, I find that impossible
to believe too.
It is a nice story, like the old Tall Man
series, but after all it is only fiction although
they do go into some true things in there too.

Good idea on the poll....hmmmm, how about a poll as to which theory holds more water, as far as how Billy escaped from jail in Lincoln? Maybe give 3 or more options, if possible?

Good one. I was actually tossing that idea around when I was putting up my post this morning about Billy's great escape.

That poll is too tough to answer, I don't even
have an opinion. That brings up another question.
Do you think we will ever find out anymore on
Billy? Have all the resources been searched and
written about? Of course those that have don't
agree so that's not much help.

I've noticed that the history of Billy the Kid has evolved and changed from ten years ago. But it may be because fact has finally overriden myth. I will say in talking to historians and researchers on Billy the Kid, they seem confident that some new or updated info will surface one of these days (like maybe a document will be found in an old trunk in someone's attic that could shed some light on Billy's birth). So let's keep our fingers crossed.

Yeah, it has been a while hasn’t it? I'll start thinking up new ideas for the quiz. It's actually a lot trickier then I first thought, because I have to come up with questions that have straight answers -none that are debatable or controversy. So with a topic like Billy the Kid, that can get quite challenging.
