Le Land, New Mexico is old Fort Sumner? Looks out
in the middle of nowhere. Is there anything left
of Fort Sumner?

All that is really left of "Old" Ft. Sumner is what you see there...what's left of the old fort, the cemetery, and the BTK museum, plus a few houses scattered here and there. Ft. Sumner had many floods over the years that washed away much of the area. And keep in mind, there wasn't much there to begin with. Downtown Ft. Sumner is where most everything is at, and that used to be sunnyside.


I guess with a town of about 1200 people, there wouldn't be much anyway.

That was a cool aerial photo.


I always go to maps on the internet and check out that part of New Mexico. I wish I could go there. *sigh*
