From all that I have read, Billy was proven to have killed 4 people by himself. Frank "Windy" Cahill was the first, and Billy shot him while he was on top of Billy beating the crap out of him. This, I think, was in Fort Sumner, NM. I don't know where he was from.
The next guy he killed was "Texas Red", Joe Grant. If you saw Young Guns, the character in the bar that Billy shoots after removing his bullets from his gun was based on Texas Joe Grant. I am not sure, but he probably was from Texas!
The other 2 were Bob Ollinger and J. Bell, the 2 deputies that he shot when trying to escape from Jail. I don't know where they were from. Hope this helps!
Just as Jeremy stated above, Billy the Kid single-handedly killed four men. He did participate in other shootings, but no…they all weren’t Texans (if you want to know more about these “other shootings” check out my Fact vs. Myth page).
The first man Billy killed was Frank Windy Cahill, who was a native of Ireland, in Fort Grant, Arizona.
Second was Joe Grant, who was said to be from Texas. Billy shot and killed him in a Fort Sumner Cantina and just for the record Grant asked for it.
The last two men were Billy the Kid’s guards Bob Olinger and James Bell. Olinger was from Indiana and Bell “I think” was from somewhere back East, but I’ll have to get back to you on that one.
