When Billy the Kid’s mother, Catherine Antrim, died in 1874 her obituary had stated her age as 45 at the time of death, which means she was born around 1829. This then means Catherine was about 14 years her last husband’s senior and she was in her early 30s when her sons were born. Both the above conclusions were rather uncommon for a woman of that time, so could the obituary be incorrect on the age? If it was correct, it’s still rather usual for a woman in those days to marry such a younger man and have children late in life. Just a thought I was pondering. For some thing different and to give those attached polls a try, I posted one with this message.
By the way, does anyone know of census records on the Antrim family in New Mexico? You think there would be one, but I’m not aware of any
